I highly recommend goading/leading a PC to the teleportation trap that replaces the teleported PC with an undead in their clothing with the PC ending up naked in a crypt. (I did this at the end and had them thank the PCs for releasing their souls before disappearing into mist) Another bit of flavor you could incorporate include the 'march of the dead' 'legion of the dammed' or what ever you call the parade of ghosts from the town of barovia's cemetery up to the high spire and down the center shaft at midnight. bucephalus worked well to come at them from behind 'smell of brimstone cuts through the odor of must and decay' Phew, this has been an epic job, but finally, the whole castle is complete with this final mega-pack containing 8 catacomb maps (Definitely useful for other adventures than Curse of Strahd) The southern part of the Catacombs with Strahd's Tomb is truly evil, with the swirling shadows and mist, I'm very happy about how this came out. crypts with 'important' stuff would stay closed when the PCs got there - they eventually got the idea important stuff was in these. the crypt doors would open when the PCs would get near them or Strahd needed/wanted the back up. I had the spell caster v.spawn variants use wall of stone and other tricks to isolate the party members with sunlight so Strahd could move around and savage the rest of the group. I replaced all the rest with a mix of undead - mostly vamp. I looked through the catacombs and picked out the ones with 'important' contents (ie bucephalus, the teleportation locations etc.) and left those alone.
